    Omaha cash game hand today

    $1/$2

Hero's Stack is $250 all 3 villains in this hand cover

i have Ah10h7s6s on the button

    6 players see a flop for $2

    Villain 1 is SB
    Villain 2 is BB
    Villiain 3 is MP
    Hero on Button

    Flop

Ac9h8h (giving me decent straight draw nut flush and aces)

Vilain 1 leads out pot for $12
    Villain 2 CALLS
    Villain 3 CALLS
    Hero CALLS

    Turn (Pot $60)

    Ac9h8h Qs

    Villain 1 + 2 + 3 ALL CHECK

    I Bet the Pot $60

    All 3 Villains CALL!!!!!

    River (Pot $300 ish)

Ac9h8h Qs 6d (giving me the 2nd nut straight)

Checked round to me (usually i check in this spot but there has been a lot of talk on here recently of value betting the river)

So i Bet $60 (also slightly hoping to induce a bluff as i suspect no J10 out there)

    Villain 1 (SB) Calls

    Villain 2 FOLDS

    Villain 3 Re-Raises All in

    I Call

    Villain 1 Calls

    SHOWDOWN

    Villain 3 has trips

    I have 2nd Nut Straight

Villain 1 (SB) has Nut Straight (J10)

    I lose

how can the small blind actually play the hand like this??

is there collusion going on between SB and MP????

It's more likely he wanted more dead money in the pot. He got a push from villain 3 and the rest of your stack by just calling. Were villain 2 & 3 active and aggro previous to this?

If he pops it back, he's buying almost definite folds from anyone without JT.

extremely odd that muppet 3 re raises with trips here after that action and with several str8s possible.
However, given that u led turn and value bet river, they must think u have JT a lot here, and therefore they are 2/3s ing themselves if u like by playing it this way if they are colluding.

    Just your usual muppetry imo.

I appreciate the input with regards to the fact that it probably wasn't collusion which is prob right...

next question now is how do you think that i played the hand, especially considering that if I had just checked on the river i would have had a $74 loss in the pot trying to win $300

if i value bet with no re-raise at me, i'm risking $124 in the pot for $400/$450

and if i get it all in i'm looking at $250 for $550/750 depending on 1 or 2 callers (as was the case)

my real question is, should i always check behind here?? (i feel a major leak in my game is when i have position is value betting...either getting re-raised or not value betting at all...

    thoughts?

I don't think it is collusion, and people do stuff like this from time to time. I would definitely try to get some value on the end so I think you played it right, but you will never really get bluffed here so you should fold when check raised. If you expect to be bluffed a difficult amount of the time, checking behind is better.

I think you should check behind the turn, the most obvious draw got there so take the free card (didn't see you weren't the flop bettor when I wrote this, but still check behind most of the time, too many players to bluff.)

I would have potted the flop.
