    hi folks,

last year saw a Philips Jack Rabbit DVD burner and player in pc world. they don't seem to have them anymore.

does anyone know of any other similar devices which act as dvd burner and player that can be connected to tv? or where i could get a jack rabbit? checked the net but to no avail.

    thanks

Not really never even heard of the thing till you mentioned it (the product has been discontinued by Philips), this is just me but why would you want such a device looking at the specifications it's a pretty lame DVD writer to begin with, 4x max!

Seeing as DVD writers and players are so cheap these days you would be better off getting two separate units.

the more recent versions are much quicker than that.

need a burner and need a dvd player. the Jack Rabbit is a nice, small device that does both and was only 110 euro when last on sale in pc world.

For not much more money you can get far better hardware for around €125

BenQ 1650 16x DVD writer - one of the best on the market.

Samsung DVD player - Progressive scan output and supports MPEG-4/DivX files for playback along with MP3/WMA audio files as well.

i realise that i can buy them independently and moreover, i can buy them independently at an even cheaper price than what you have quoted.

i just liked the idea of having a player for my tv and a portable burner for my pc, and other pc's, all in one. handiness, space-saving etc.
