Hard-Disk Problem

Due to virus infestation [which fully occupied the CPU and made the system unable even to operate Spy-Bot!], I had to WIPE the HDD [WD1600JD]. Re-installing WindowsXP-SP2 has failed because the original [OEM supplied] floppy with RAID drivers has become unreadable. Naturally I tried to download new Via SATA RAID Drivers from the VIA website [VIA_RAID_V530C] but whatever I did wrongly, after the installation routine, the PC goes halway into the boot-process and then goes to a blue DOS screen and stops.

I need help!! Neither Western-Digital nor VIA seem to offer enough help [on their websites] to download the right drivers to make the HDD work properly!

You only mention one hard drive so not sure on your problem but..

You don't require drivers if it is a single hard drive the SATA controller emulates an IDE controller simply disable RAID support on the SATA controller in the bios.

If you are running a RAID array, download the VIA SATA RAID drivers appropriate for your south-bridge and run the make floppy utility. Then in the VIA RAID bios create the array, it should okay after that is everything is set correctly.
