Male waxing... where to go

Just wondering where i could go to get my back waxed? I've looked around the goldenpages but couldn't find anything much around the area. Anyone know of any in/near blackrock? I could travel anywhere from blackrock to nutgrove easily enough.

I know it might be the wrong forum, but i don't know where else to ask.

    Thanks.

The majority of salons offer this service.

Why not ring them up and ask them?

    This place
    http://www.madisonclinic.ie/madisonprices.htm
in Liffey Street does it, but most salons will do a back wax.

It's when you veer into what they refer to in this clinic as 'specialised male waxing' which I suppose is B, C and S, that not all salons will do it.

Brazilia on south william street specialise in waxing for men & women. Website is www.brazilia.ie. Can be difficult to get an appointment though so book in advance.

How long does a male wax (B C and S as previously mentioned) last? It's fairly pricy but it might be bareable if it's only once every few months.

Ok, so i went into madisons and got a patch test. I was told to look out to see if it became especially itchy/tender/spotty etc and if it did, i couldn't get the treatment done. Now, about 12 hours later it isn't sore/tender in any way but it is slightly spotty. I assume this means i can't get waxing done?

So what are my other options? Anything i could do to remove excess backhair before monday :P Probably not i assume. I know ye're thinking "why did you leave it so late", well, thats because i needed a reason to push me into finally going rather than think about it like i have been.

Go back to Madison's and show them your patch test. They'll be able to judge if 'slightly' spotty is what they mean by 'spotty'.

The sooner you get it whipped off (ouch) the sooner any redness can die down.

    Good luck.

I'm due back in later today to get the patchtest checked and if all is well, get it done. That gives me the weekend and the rest of today for it to recover. *crosses fingers* I hope for the best.

Spots on the patch test are not uncommon. I had the wax done twice and both occasions I suffered from spot of my shoulders/back which is very common. I only had it done twice as the pain was unbearable. Don't get me wrong it does seem to be more/less painfull for each individual. In the end I felt I'd prefer to live with the back hair rather than the pain and the cost every month. BTW once it's done once it's not as bad (pain wise) afterwards as the hair is not as thick/long.

Well, looks like i had a reaction to the wax. They said to leave it another day and see if the red spots disappear. Bugger, so what are my options now for removing some unwanted back hair? Shaving would be out of the question :p My arms don't reach like that.

Most places use different waxes so shop around. Otherwise laser or electrolysis (depending on the amount of hair) may be your best option.
