Both these hands are micro limit NL hold 'em hands.
It seems like jj/qq are possibly two of my biggest losing hands at the moment. I seem to win small and lose big (relative to the blinds) with these hands. I have just started using poker tracker today so have under 400 hands clocked up so thats no help.

Please tear into me if I play these hands terribly, I know I played the second one very badly.
I dont know to much about the villain, but he was playing tight enough so put him on a premium hand.

This is taken from bodog. It's really annoying because there is no way to convert hand histories into text files on bodog.
Well I couldnt find how to do it anyway, so if anyone does know a way drop me a pm. cheers.

    Micro limit .5/.10 full ring

Dealer has $12.70 Person A has $9. Hero has $36.32
I get dealt jj in mid position. Three folders. Person A to my right calls I raise to .60
Three more fold then Dealer Calls, Blinds fold and original person A calls too.

    Pot is 1.95
    Flop comes 563r
    A checks,
    I bet .90 (too small?)
    Dealer raises to 1.80
    I flat call.
    A folds.

    Pot is 5.55
Turn is Q diamonds completing rainbow.
    I check
    Dealer Bets 4
I call (throw it away here yes?)

    Pot is 13.55
    River is an Ace
    I check
he bets 6 and I fold.

I think a very poorly played hand on my part. I should probably have bet the turn and then folded to a re-raise. I still think
    he probably had trips.
    Any comments?

    thanks for any advice

    Luke

I think the biggest problem with the 1st hand (QQ) is the raise is too small to find out were you are the hand and every hand is going to call you after raising it 2 in the first place.

I think in the 2nd hand the bet on the flop is also too small to find out were you are in the hand.

So you are not getting any valuable information with your raises which makes both hands even more difficult to play.

Well first of all you should have raised more preflop, i never really see the point of min raising, raise to 6 at least imo. I would also bet more on the flop instead of half of it, i see no reason not to bet the turn,if you DO bet and he raises then you really have to think about it, but definitely bet it, its very weak to check

I think you are way over estimating your opposition at this level. Giving them too much credit.

In the first hand if you raise to $4, you really should come out betting more than $4 again. And then you check the turn after which just looks weak. I'd be happy lead out again, or even check raise him here not fold.

You probably are beaten on the 2nd hand but you should be betting more than under half the pot on the flop etc.

The problem is that people on these levels will call you with anything preflop, which can be great when they call you down. But you will have some shocking beats too as theres no way you could put him on then 25o needed to make a gutshot on the river verus your trip aces.

But I deff think you need to bet more, and not be so scared of your opponents.

Hand 1) Basically its just too weak all over. Make it $6 preflop. Then whatever he bets on the flop, you raise 2.5 times that. Then your goal is to get all in as fast as possible.

Hand 2) pf is fine. Flop bet should be between 1.30 and pot. Call his raise. Turn is close, I prolly check-call and fold to a decent bet on the river. the Ace makes my fold easier.

It seems like 2 different people playing the hands.

Hand 1: Min reraise preflop, checking a non scary turn and then folding? There is no way you should fold in this hand. Check call the river is fine if you wish to be cautious.

Hand 2: 6x raise preflop, call minraise and then check call a turn card. This is not too bad until here, but I probably fold to the turn bet really here.

    Cheers for the advice guys.

I know I am not playing well at the moment, I think some very bad beats as of the past week or so has lost me a lot of my confidence, hence maybe why I am playing a lot weaker then I should be doing.

    Thanks again.

hand 1 as said already raise bigger, easily to 6 , even 8, they love any decent PP at this level, the only thing im scared of is A4 on the turn (surprisingly possible) but id gladly check raise all in here, the way the villain played the hand here is very rarely a set, they nearly always slooooowplay them.

bet the pot here, it's a good flop for you

Were you thinking AA/KK after he called the reraise?(althought it was a minraise) If so i think you're giving them too much credit, I used to do the same!

Hand 2: bet the pot again, show them you're strong, you might take it down here. I'd probably fold the flop here as its nearly always 2pair or a set with a small check raise.(they love their low unsuited connectors:rolleyes: )

Just my opinion for this level, i'm imagine some very different repsonses if this was 1/2 for example
