*Free* defrag programmes

I'm looking for a good FREE defrag programme as I don't believe MS defrag tool cuts the mustard. I've looked in the "essential free software" sticky and it lists diskeeper and O&O. I’ve tried both of these some time ago, but I seem to remember that they both have limited trial periods. Can anyone, from experience, recommend anything that won’t **** up my HDD and is truly free?

well, MS Defrag is a cut down version of Diskeeper. You can use diskeeper lite, but TBH, the built in defrag in Xp is just as good:

Fraid, you cant have somthing for nothing. As your HD\Partition fills, some data will end up on the slowest part of the drive no matter what you do.

thanks guys. i've downloaded diskeeper lite. personally, i'd say it's a slight improvement on the xp version.
