How often do VW bring out new models?

The new Passat came out last Year.
I bought a new one this year, but I like to change the car every 3 years.
I like the passat and want to stick with it, but I dont want to change it in 3 years only to have a new model come out again the following year.
Is there any way of telling when they will change the model again?

Well the previous model was around for about 8 years with just a couple of minor facelifts so you should be safe enough for a while anyway.

They tend to change every 7 - 8 years

Previous model Passat has been around since 1997 with a major facelift in 2001 and minor changes again in late 2003 before the new one arrived in 2005.

On average VW change their models every 6 or 7 years with a facelift about half way through it's life cycle.

If you wana change the passat in a few years, wait til they bring out the updated version of the current one, probably in 2009 (major guesswork here).
