Just in the middle of laying some decking. There are a number of boards which have sap on the surface. Has anyone got any helpful tips on how this can be treated or removed before it gets walked into the house?

    Hello Do-more.
Use turpentine and warm water mixed half and half in a bowl.
    Wipe or brush on.
    Leave for 5 mins.
Wipe off and apply again (about 3 times).

You can substitute glycerine for turpentine if you like.

    Hope this helps.

Remove as much as possible with a rag soaked in white spirit and let dry. Then treat knots with a liquid called Knotting or something similar which should be available from a hardware or paint shop.
