J2ME: Adding photos from phone

hi there,

i am currently creating a mobile game using j2me. As part of the game I would like load photos from the mobile phone, outside the jar file. Is this possible or am I just chasing a rainbow?

It depends a lot on the mobile phone/s that you're targeting.

To load from the file system usually the fileconnection api will be used.
This requires JSR-75 which is an optional package. Your phone manufacturer can leave it out if they want.

Probably don't need this but just in case. If you're looking to access the camera directly you need MMAPI support jsr135 and the optional camera support.

There may be some security values to change or you may have to sign the jar, again depending on the phone.
