Looks like mach1 is only beating a bluff on the turn, but seems he is trying to induce one with the check raise. If bertnypi89 is the type to call with nothing then bluff or raise with weak hands then it looks like good play. If bertnypi89 is not the floating type then really should be a fold on the turn.

From bertnypi89 POV, I'd raise this flop if I were he. Looks like someone may have something and also dont want to give flushdraw a free ride.

I think that they both played right, sorry that you lost to a set of deuces though. I always hate that.

Well this is obviously more cut and dried than I thought.

When I was reviewing this hand I thought I might have played it differently.

If I was Mach1 I think I might have raised preflop if I was going to play the hand. I think on the turn he might well be ahead, could be up against either Ax or a flush draw. I like the check raise because it induces the bluff when the opponent doesn't have a hand. I'm guessing on the river that the bet is to represent a high set or made straight. With the stacks as short as they are, he can't really bet any less and have any folding equity.

From bertnypi89's point of view, I think I would probably have pushed the turn, rather than giving a free card to my opponent. I don't want to give him a chance to catch up on the cheap. When he pushes the river, I'd be tempted to fold. A higher set or a straight are very possible given the betting action. Tough call with bottom set on that board, I think you're behind far more often than you're ahead at this point.
