    2/4 6 max
    stacks
    me: 850
    villain 300

villain is not a total muppet but nothing special either .i doubt it if he is a winner but his not a big loser either.

    Hand
Limp, villain limps and I make it 20 from button with JJ.
Folded back to villain who calls.

    Flop(50 ish)
    4 6 T two tone

villain checks and I bet 50
    villain calls

    turn( 150)
    8 completing the flush

    villain check .i check behind

    river(150)

    8

villain checks and I donno why I decide to bet 80.(just how bad is this?)

    villain shoves?

I think you have played the hand well so far. Probably I would fold the river against an unknown, if I knew a bit more about him I might call.

Dont know why you cant check behind?

Hes gonna call you with any hand that beats you.

Is he bad enough to call you with a hand that you beat?

Maybe im losing value in spots like this but i check behind...then again i am a little girl on scary boards..

i would check behind here very very often unless im against a donkey.
TBH i wasnt playing well at all i was being the donkey thats why i didnt check behind.
his check at the end was what really convinced me to bet .
and bet i did and then i called his shove.
    he had 44.

I think villain will usually look you up with any T here, which is his most likely hand. After all he is up against a known maniac. €80 is excellent IMO.

Is this simply because Gholi is very aggressive or is there something else im missing?

which part ? The bet on the end or the fold to the push?

Bet is ok cos he can get looked up by Tx
Fold to the push is ok, cos nobody bluffs here hardly ever.,

It's because people don't fold top pair. And yes it helps that Gholi has an aggressive image. And yes you are missing out on value in these spots.

Is this true at this level? By Gholis own reckoning this guy isnt an idiot so can we expect him to limp, call, oop with 10x? Considering the action and the level does this not stink of sumthing stronger than 10x?

It's true at all levels. This guy may not be an 'idiot" but what hands do you think are good to limp/call with OOP in this situation? Not a lot, Tx is as likely as anything that could beat you. Certainly nothing about villain's play "stinks" of him being able to beat an overpair, when people limp call preflop check call the flop and check through the next two streets this is not typically a sign of great strength.

I would have folded the river but am prone to make them brain fart calls myself from time to time.

Also, If you never even very seldom value bet the river, your river steal bet is so obviously a bluff.

I think you played the hand very well up until the river call. And even then there are some players who I would call in this spot. But generally I agree with what has been said that this is a fold.

It sounds to me like he put you on you're over pair and knew you'd bet on a turn and river check. His value to bet when he makes the flush is less. If he bets $80 into you when the flush is on the board, you'll fold. But since you he checked twice you didn't give him credit for the hand.
