Electric sunroof on '96 Audi A4 stuck in fully open position, Any ideas how to gain access to mechanism and/or repair?
    It's going to rain on Wed. and I don't have a garage!!

Have a look in your handbook, there's probably a socket to manually wind it shut in the boot. Have you checked the fuse/relay?

in the fuse box inside the driver's door there's a little handle dealie stuck on the cover. there's a blanking panel alongside the sunroof, pull it off and wind away.

Is it a genuine Audi roof? If it is it will have a rotary dial switch. If it is an aftermarket fit then it will have an open/close switch. If it is genuine then you will have the allen key in the fuse box cover as suggested above - if it is aftermarket then call somebody like AutoGlaze (01 453 8555) or some other sunroof installer.

I worked in an Audi dealership from 94 - 2000 and I've seen lots of Audi sunroof motors replaced in that time.

Thanks Lads, It's a factory fit sun-roof, I found the allen key in the fuse cover, but it wouldn't budge using that either.
A question to Crosstownk? what is involved in changing the motor and how do you gain access to the mechanism??

    cheers
