"Dublin set for free wireless broadband scheme"

    The new Lord Mayor of Dublin has said that funding for free city-wide broadband could be given the go-ahead by Dublin City Council later this year.

    Vincent Jackson said that councillors could give the green light for the construction of a new city-wide wireless internet (wi-fi) network as soon as November. Several large telecoms companies have also expressed an interest in building or maintaining such a network.

    That sounds deadly. But is free free? Surely then all the people who have broadband would be cancelling their orders with Eircom or Smart or whoever?

    HA! They could certainly advise how not to do it. Pretty much the exact opposite to what they do should work fine.

    I'd imagine there would have to be sever restrictions on the speed and amount you could download to avoid leechers abusing it.
