right so after hearing so much about this show, and seeing how i watched lost and saw how much basquille liked lost and saw how he campaigned for the forum i gave prison break a shot...

now to say it bluntly i loved the whole idea of this show the tattoo and everything calculated by mike is pure class.

now i've just finished watching episode 1 to 16 in two days and there's just one bone i have to pick with it.

i'm going to spoiler the next bit as it involves episodes not yet aired in ireland.
in episode 16 it seems it's taking a very "losty" approach, you know the flashbacks etc. etc. now i'm all for them in lost as they create and build characters that we don't know much about, but in prison break there's not a lot we need to know about them. they've all been banged up in there for crimes does it really need to go into such depth?

does this continue on from 17-22?

anyways that all i had to say about it, i'll continue to watch it as it's a great show.

The episode you mention was the most out of place episode I think I have ever seen on a TV show.. It should have been the first or second episode FFS!!

The episode is just a one off and it pretty much returns to the same format as before after it.

that's great to hear, just felt like i had to voice it you know.

i'm too tired to watch anymore, i've like watched 8 episodes today and i'm beat.

i voiced the same concerns as you are now Cremo, i thought it was totally out of place but it serves a purpose. It was added to give more depth to the characters so there would be a more realistic platform for a second season. It had to be done but that's all the character building they do in Season 1. I have a feeling we're going to see a few flash backs in season 2 though, especially since they're chasing after DP Coopers dosh and TBag is looking for vengence and Sucure is going after his cousin and CNote is doing stuff and stuff and other stuff is bound to happen and so forth.....

Cremo.. i completely agree with your sentiment. But i disagree that "in prison break there's not a lot we need to know about them. they've all been banged up in there for crimes does it really need to go into such depth?".. we do learn a lot about the characters in this episode. While we learned about an unnecessary "supposed" romance between Michael and Veronica, we also learned the real reason Michael vowed to get Linc out of prison and important backstories regarding how the now infamous cons are in there... especially T-Bag and Sucre.

And yes.. while i feel it was probably 'Lost'-inspired, i think it was somewhat necessary leading up to a finale in which we needed to know more about the characters motives and backstories especially in a Massive Attack fuelled montage which you'll see in a few episodes time.

But as i say this, while i enjoyed the perspective from the characters pre-prison.. i thought the episode came in the middle of an absolutely thrilling piece of TV which most people would think was simply filler for the creators to think of inventive ways to progress upcoming episodes.

PS - but stick with it... you won't regret it... it has outdone 'Lost' this season without a shadow of a doubt in my mind. Yes, two completely different shows but while 'Lost' has intrigued us from week to week... the infamous cliffhangers of 'Prison Break' have kept us on tenterhooks!

PPS - added 'US' tag as the 'IRL' folk have a bit to go yet!

Don't know why people didn't like the flashback episode, I thought it was brilliant. It gave us a whole new take on C-Note: he's just a knob in prison but we find out he was a fairly good guy before that. Sucre's heists were pretty funny too.
I loved the part where that woman with the kids is making dinner for her new boyfriend: when she opens the door and we see who it is... Ugh! Probably the creepiest moment of the entire series.

ahh no, i'm not saying i didn't like the episode, i do. It's just i felt it was a bit "losty" like and just kind of had a blacklash to it.

tbh the show is great but it would be nice to know how many seasons there will be as i think there's only so long before it will get stale in my opinion.

P.S cheers for putting the US tag up there :p

You'd just love for him to call around to your house, wouldn't you? You'd cook him dinner, wash his feet, spoon-feed him Ben & Jerry's ice cream and tug his pocket all night long.
