Yup, works for me... really like it. Perfect bw choice, with nice exposure and good contrast in conversion. Lovely shot, good work.

Very nice, excellent shot. You timed the exposure well.

Critique: Tonal difference seems a little low, a bit more contrast would be nice (its also a bit greenish? Too green I think). Not neccessarily the "contrast" option in photoshop, maybe use different film or something. For composition I'd move it a tiny bit left and leave a little more room at the top between the bowl and the border.

Yup the shutter speed is perfect to just give a tiny bit of movement in the drops - takes it further that the usual (dare I say bland) statue picture.

I think the contrast is bang on, the subject is too delicate for harsh treatment like that. It really does bring to mind sunny afternoons in the park...

very nice Morlar. iagree that the tones are very nice, and love the amount of movement in the water.

Also agree with Zillah, I feel the dish is a touch cramped at the top, jsut a touch mor spcae there maybe - and a touch to the left I think would really balance it off.

I hate when people always use "distracting" in their critiques - but is that blown highlight in ths front rock a bit...ehh distracting? ;)

    well done though.

Thanks all for the comments - I think it is a bit closer to the right than the left (hadnt really noticed that). The reason the crop at the top was so tight was because I was using the 1-1.618 crop ratio and there was nothing above it anyway just more trees - looking at it now though it does look a bit sharp to cut it that close. So I may re-do that part. I actually like the reflection on the rock - I think the foreground just looks dark and jagged without that there. Thanks again.
