    Won't happen. No way.
Even the makers have said ideally, they would only do 4 seasons. If thats true we're already half way through.

It's not really up to the makers though, if Lost keeps up it's ratings the network can keep it running as long as they want.

I'd say it's rubbish. Can't see it running for 7 seasons. Also, some of the actors have claimed they don't know from one season to the next what will happen with their characters (could be killed off etc.) so why would they have such long contracts?

Only the less high profile actors would sign on for a long time as they get extra money per episode for extending their contracts.

Personally, I think ABC may end Lost in year five instead of running it into the ground as it is a huge money spinner. I also think a movie is quite likely too as the show is hugely popular around the world.

The movie would tie in with the whole mulitmedia aspect of the show.

With the exception of Jack and Locke none of the other actors where well known before the show and even jack and locke wheren't all that well known.

Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) was in the Lord of the Rings! He was far from unknown

I personnally would have thought that those movies where bigger then the stars.

Charlie also starred in Hetty Wanthrop (sp). I will put Charlie up there with locke and jack.

Personally I think Hurley was the biggest star before Lost - Becker anyone? or that pot dealing turn in Curb Your Enthusiasm?

Firstly, Daniel Dae Kim may have signed for seven years but it doues not neccessarily mean the show will go for seven years, it is just a precaustion on the part of the network in exchange for more money he has to sign for seven.

Secondly, most of the actors on Lost were not massivly well known before Lost. But their popularity has soared since then and of course there are few higher profile actors since then i.e Matthew Fox, josh Holloway, Evangeline Lilly, Jorge Garcia , Dominic Monagahan. They are the ones most likely to be featured in the media.

That is very true, but it doesn't rule out that someone is thinking that lost could possible last 7 seasons.

Was he in the last season of Beaker? I don't think he starred in many other seasons. Not that it was a very good sit-com.

I would say that Terry O'Quinn (Locke) was the most recognisable actor from this series with his guest appearances in The X Files and a starring roll in its movie and of course for Millenium.

To me, i can't see the plot lasting any longer than season 3. A movie....possibly. As far as i know(seen the last episode) everything left open could be a movie. It's a big enough plot for either a series or a movie but not both

Because Roswell was such a well known show!

HOW would they drag it out for 7 more years?? Would they finish up the current mysteries in a couple of seasons then start a major new mystery, or would they (*could* they???) drag out the Others/Smoky etc for another 5 years???

I think you all might be missing the fact that it COULD be possible that it takes a year and a half to make each season........?

Its a seven YEAR contract not a seven SEASONS contract

There is no way that there are seven seasons.

Actually it takes about nine months and I believe Lost may be the precedent that the network may let the show finish after it reaches the minimum episodes needed for syndication rather than let the franchise run out of steam.

As I've mentioned previously a seven year contract is just a safety net for the network so when they come to renegotiate for more sessons its already in their contract and they can't ask for pay increases.
