I am looking for a HD sat reciever, came across a link in the bricks and mortar shopping sticky. Its a site in germany (Hm sat) has any one used them, They seem very reasonable in price? Looking at a Humax HD 1000 or 2000?

i think its about a week delivery for both sites.you will probably have to pay by bank transfer also(around 50c bank fee) which takes about a week to go through.

Would highly recommend the 2000 model myself. Ive had one for the last month now, enjoyed the BBC HD World cup coverage. The 2000 model is a pan european model. The 1000 is a German Premier tv model. Therefore the 2000 is a better buy!! I bought it for Stg289 including delivery. Last time i looked it was Stg269 incl delivery.

Between two Euorzone countries a bank transfer is free!!!

Back on topic I was very happy with http://www.satfuchs.de/ for some reason the ole visa card is not so popular in Germany.

well, not exactly. They are allowed charge you the same price as a national transfer charge. Charges vary depending on your bank but they are not too high.

german Merchants do not like the idea of paying CC companies about 5% for a sale.

hm-sat took about 3 days to get a 1M satellite dish to me, although most of that time was UPS trying to find someone who wouldn't herniate carrying it from the van.

They took credit cards but charged a surcharge on the shipping if you were using one, albeit not on the goods itself.

Has the firmware upgrade for BBC HD been released for the HD1000 yet? Premiere were resisting its release during the World Cup. The first 100 channels are also reserved for Premiere on the HD1000. No such restrictions on the HDCI2000.
