They'd need to get their collective heads out their arses and start pricing things right....I've been considering a 5150c for a while now, but for the most part it's cheaper to just buy off the main site. The price range on almost identical machines is huge....some comps with waay better GPUs, more HDD space etc going for less than badly specced units.

Just buy a cheap one of the main site. Wertz is right, their outlet prices are gone haywire. When you add the vat and a monitor (if you need one) they're not much of a bargain. You could also keep an eye on their outlet store on ebay.ie. I picked up a good deal last week there and the delivery is only 30euro from ebay.

One year on, I still think my outlet bargain would be just as dear :)
    Dimension 8400, Pentium 4 HT, 3.6GHz, MiniTower
Operating System: English - Win XP SP2 Home
    2048MB PC-4200 DUAL CHANNEL (2X1024mb)
    1.44MB Floppy Drive
500 (2x250mb) Serial ATA Hard Drive
    V.92 Data Fax Modem
    Creative Labs SoundBlaster® Audigy™ 2 Sound Card
CD/DVD RW Drive + DVD Drive
    256MB Nvidia 6800gto
Dell 2 Button PS/2 Scroll Mouse
    Dell 2.1 speakers
    Dell Ultrasharp 17" Flatpanel 12ms
    2 Year Warrenty

All for €1,330 inc VAT + delivery
And Wertz, I've grown to love the [strike]noise[/strike] sweet sound of a bargain.

Oh me too...I've two machines (a noisy 8400 lol) from outlet that were an absolute steal....but overall their prices especially as of now are ridiculous for the most part. There are some bargains at the lower end, celreons, 256mb RAM, 80gb HDD

Go search under the 5150c sub category, look at the specs and huge variance in prices, then configure one on their main site.
I just don't understand how the same machine can range by up to 500 quid in some cases. If people from Dell browse this site, you'd do a lot worse than have a word with whoever is in charge of their pricing strategy over there...

Lads I used to work for Dell and although you can get some savage deals form the outlet, sometimes the prices are way off. However, if you call up (not the normal sales line, make sure to as to speak to someone in Outlet sales), if you show them the one you are looking for on the outlet site, and show them the price you can get it brand new for, they 'should' be able to get the price reduced by 10-15%. Worked for me, but then again I did work there and know people in that department. pm me and I'll get you my old contact if you want.
