I did a self install myself as i already had sky+ and all i had to do was swap out the box and plug in the hdmi lead from the box to the lcd,

It's worth it in my opinion but you don't really have much choice of hd content yet and of course you have the extra 15per month

Only worth it if you have a > 48" HD TV set or set close to a 37" HDTV.

Not much real HD content and the cheaper HDTV sets are poorer for ordinary resolution than many CRTs.

If you don't have an HDTV or HD projector no point.

I would wait till this time next year when ITV might be on Air HDTV and BBC trial over. Better cheaper TVs and better choice of PVR/HD receivers.

Well that's a matter of opinion. I'll give you my tuppence from a friend that has it. In a line he's giving out FCUK, although I said cancel it and he wont. His exact words, full of upscaled programmes and the simpsons, if Sky bothered to broadcast their programmes in proper SD, never mind HD, you wouldn't need this.

Did I agree? Yes. Of course the sports might look better, but the rubbish Sky are throwing out on other channels would put me off. I believe he said he had a weekend of the Simpsons in HD on Sky1. Is that worth it? Doubt it.

Are Sky SD channels getting worst all the time? Yes, without doubt. My eyes dont lie. In effect they are now not even broadcasting SD a lot of the time, no wonder people are tempted by HD.

I'll be waiting for my Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player to watch HD movies but I'll be giving Sky nothing extra until their tripe improves, if ever. Of course this is all my opinion.
