it's perfectly legal to buy something and then sell it off at any price you wish to set.

Obviously you would prefer they didn't, but there you go.

The T&C on ticketmaster tickets say you can't resell the ticket for more than face value, but it's not breaking the law.

330 seems about right. the going rate on ebay seems to be 600-650 for 2. so i don't think you were ripped off considering the circumstances. i'm so surprised they've sold out 2 months before. not even witness after it's third year was selling out 2 months before.

anyways, if there's anyone out there looking to flog of there tickets. i'd be willing. of course you don't have to charge face value if you don't want to ;)

my dilemna now is should i hold out untill closer to the date and see if the prices drops. i doubt standard economics says prices can only go up from here in... guess i should get tickets now rather then later.

well i suppose everything was a1 tickets were received next day its just the way things are i suppose but no-one likes handing over that sort of money but if the tickets are not fake thats a benefit I won't use e-bay as my mates dad got ripped off by some guys in germany for Heneken cup final tickets.

Im still surprised that there was so many people who were shocked by this. Im amazed it didnt sell out sooner and I think the only reason it didnt was the lack of a single "massive" name and lack of day tickets.

There was only 35000 tickets, fantastic reviews of last year, and no Glastonbury so it was always going to sell out early and after not selling out the day of them going on sale the next most likely time was straight after Oxegen.

The music scene and especially the festival scene has totally changed from a few years ago. Festivals are very big business at the moment, the sheer amount of them shows that. Comparing a new festival now to the evolution of Witnness is a bit pointless.

Though heres a stupid story.. I was interviewed at the very first Witnness about my thoughts on it by FM104. I said I was delighted that we were finally getting back to multi-day music festivals (there hadnt been any since Feile several years ago at that stage) and I hoped that wed see more 3 day festivals in Ireland soon because of it.

As it happened Irish promoters took their bloody time getting to this stage and Im glad to see that the Irish market has justified the move to properly emulate the UK festival model like I had said six years ago!

Electric Picnic selling out 2 months in advance is fantastic news as it shows the format is viable and that people are willing to pay for variety. Maybe next year we'll see a REAL 3 day festival with an "offical" Thursday opening and that WILL sell out in a few hours. </ramble>
