These will include films, photography, painting, sculpture, interactive installations, music and other performances. Film night (Friday 21st July, 7pm) - “Budda Bag, Millennium Quarter – across the Millennium Bridge

    Why
All of the artists have been inspired by bicycles and by cycling culture, and the festival aims to acknowledge the role of the bicycle as a positive aspect of our 21st century urban culture. Bicycling is not merely a mode of transport, but a practical symbol of sustainability, and a fabulous source of fun and an inspiration to many.

    How
The festival is organised by an independent arts group, all of whom either work as artists / designers or are steeped in the bicycle world. This is the first year the festival is running with sponsorship generously provided by Dublin Cycling Campaign, Sustrans, Icarus (IT) and supported by Dublin City Council Arts Office. The organisers announced “This is the first festival of its kind in Ireland, and possibly in Europe, and we are certain that it will be a fabulous success. It is breaking new ground on the arts scene in the capital.
