    hi guys

iv been searching the forum already but i guess was really just looking for a slightly more tailored recommendation. i had an iriver h340 for about 18 motnhs and a h140 before that both of which i loved, although i found the former in particular a bit too bulky. Also as my only concern is the music (i never used the 340 for videos or even photos) that's my priotity above all else.
Unfortunately my house got broken into and my h340 was taken last week so when i scrape the cash together i'll be in the market for a new player. iv heard great things about the cowon x5, but am worried it might be a bit bulky espec. the 60GB model. also in the case of the cowon, id rather buy in a store than online (i know im old fashioned but my iriver broke twice and i just brought it back to harvey n and got a new one straight away, it was worth the few extra quid for the peace of mind imho) so does anywhere sell them in dublin, and maybe i could give it a test drive first. I would never get an ipod, dont worry, but in fairness they do seem to be the smallest player out there relative to capacity size. so any recommendations greatly received, and like i say video capability doesnt matter etc. im essentially looking for the best sound features alongside a not-too-big exterior, and i'll need at least 40GB (even though they nicked my 1000 cds as well :( but im hoping to rebuild my collection... eventually :))

    thanks a lot guys
    mish

Aw man that's terrible! Hard luck (Taking the cds was just adding insult to injury :( )

I bought a cowon iaudio x5L a few weeks back and couldn't be happier; great sound quality, tons of features and a very tough player. I have a 20gig model and it's not bulky at all, the 60 gig model might be a little less pocket friendly. If you can get by with 30 gigs then you can get one of the "L" models which have tonnes more battery life.

Good luck with the cd collection!

Yeah, the X5 is quite similar to a H300, and also the best sounding player out there IMO. I know the 20gig model is smaller than a H320 so I doubt you'll need to worry about the size.

thanks for that guys - after a bit of consideration i think i might be able to manage with 30GB (after all it's not like iv a 5 hour commute every day!) sounds like the cowon is the way to go :)
