Really liked this one - some great battles and use of SFX, especially when the Orion was launching the drones. As good as anything BSG is knocking out.

Characters were all in form and quickly reminded of why I love McKay so much. Tey-lo was a little useless but Weir was surpisingly strong and likeable here.

Admiteddly I still don't feel the threat of the Wraith, like I do with the Ori. They shouldn't be so easy to take out if we're meant to fear them and it's a concern for me as much as it was with S2. Now maybe we'll see something new and better soon...

    Good start all the same.

I liked this one alot too.
Now they need a decent story arc to hold our interest this season.

Good solid start to the season and some good storylines here. There seems plenty of scope to branch out. My one concern is what Ronin is going to do apart from run around threatening GBH .

Lets set the scene - me perched in front of the PC watching away bout 20mins in *BANG* PSU gives up the ghost. Three cables later i decide to scavange a new PSU from another PC.Up and running again finished off watching the new Ep and was happy out with the new season!

Thought the good Col would have been better to attck the Ori in SG1, some quick thinking with the darts:D Looks to be a good old twist in the plot somewhere this season. Better than SG-1 first ep, Is this a sign for the Season again?

They cant really have the Wraith being all powerful, the big power of the wraith is the fact theres so many of them, they are technologically inferior to what earth is putting out these days by a fair margin, and with all the ancient tech they using its only right they can go toe to toe with the wraith in a 1 on 1 (or 2v2 in this case) even with ships a 10th the size of a hive ship.

Liked this opener, bit disappointed with the orion, great opening shot but it was still a shame, the first few scenes with McKay and Ronin reminded me post haste why you have to love atlantis, hes such a great charecter to watch (entirely predictable, but fun), was pleasently surprised by Wier, never much liked her but she put up a good performance this episode.

Really liked this episode, especially when the Orion let rip. Was fairly annoyed they destroyed it so soon though.

    Sums up my views exactly.

Quality opener, makes me want to watch Atlantis again (after having stopped watching it from s02e04 due to its crappiness) The ronin and McKay dialogue at the start was excellent, pacing the action going on with some humour and also some development. Perfectly done.

The Orion scene was awesome as was already mentioned, watching the drones weave in and around was a pure joy.

The ending gave us closure and also more along the same lines to enjoy, by not wrapping things up too quickly.

Weir was amusing at times and strong and confident the rest of the time. The way a person in her position should be. Also added a bit of character to the general (I still havent bothered to learn his name :o), when he tried to boost her morale.

All in all, my favourite Atlantis episode to date and definitely a hard one to follow, for the rest of this season. If they can come even remotely close to matching the humour, the action, the pace and the storyline of this episode, throughout the rest of the season, then Atlantis will easily be the new Stargate SG-1 ;)

Yep, I found SGA far out shined SG1 this ep. A great story arc.
Michael changing sides when he felt the wind change agenst him was great and added some depth to the enemy

    I thought the
orion getting distoryed so easy was a real shame. However they now have a wraith hive ship.... so that should be interesting...

Sheppered was class as always. With this flash back of the conversation him, Rodney and Zalenka (spell) where having. However at the critical moment he was distracted by woman... had me in stiches.

Rodney as ever was on top complaining forum.

Ronan was his normal solid/angry self.

Weir finaly had some good moments and showed she isn't that useless backround person who makes a shocked face when something happens.

    Awful - Why. Whhhhyyyyy.
This episode was half and half for me.
Great battle scenes and twists but I still feel that McKay is being overdone. Teyla is useless. Ronin is proving that he is nothing more than a knuckle dragging ape and the fact that everyone is trusting Michael is ridiculous.
Weir was the only one that I saw any imporvment in and the fact that people were trying to pretend that they could care about the Wraith after what the Ori had been doing is also sloppy.

I also thought that the Computer Graphics were excellent in this epsiode. I'd have to agree with you about Teyla and Ronan. She doesn't add much while he is just fighting because he is angry - Teal'c had the reason of freeing his people from oppression, Ronan is just f*cked up all the time.

Anyone know what the time-line is with respect to SG-1 and Atlantis?? It seemed that at the SGC there wasn't much happening about the Ori threat. Was this episode meant to have come before/during/after the battle with the Ori at the super-gate?

Still a pretty good episode - hopefully its the sign of things to come for SGA.
