yes its away better than ie but why does it take up so much memory? even closing tabs doesnt free up the memory.
Its taking up 117Mb and 103Mb virtual mem atm. is there any way to reduce this or set a maximum on what it can use?

Can u clear all offline info? Go to tools and options, and do a swift "clear all", see if that helps? Plus, u know, 150mb? if 150mb is worrying you, my friend it is time to invest in a new pc.

if you disable your extensions it drops the mem usage way down.

He never said he had any.

    Did you try re-install it?

    What version do you have?

Its just the way it is unfortunately, it doesnt really like to release the memory when its finished. Hopefully it will be ironed out in future versions.

had left it running on the work pc over the weekend and came in to find it consuming 98% cpu, 350mb ram + 350mb Virtual mem. killed it and have upgraded to 1.5.0.4 now. Only have 3 extensions installed: google tool bar, video downloader and downloadThemAll.
according to the lonk zod provided the newer vesion should fix a few mem leaks.

I should check if i have the latest version when i get home later.
I've seen my FF use over 300mb, 500mb even on several ocasions. Its usually after a day of not closing the browser. Usually it ends up crashing.
