I need a KVM to share a USB keyboard and mouse between my PC and my Mac. I don't need to share the monitor as my monitor has two inputs. Can anyone recommend a low cost low footprint KVM for this purpose ? Thanks

I did a little research about KVMs a while ago, and almost all of them have bad reviews except for these 2.

These ones had some great feedbacks, so I guess these are the best ones, with the best support like for example support for 5 mouse buttons(some KVMs support only 3 and some don't even support a scroll wheel) BUT! there is a little annoyance(that's the reason it received 4 stars instead of 5 from most of the users), it does not support keyboard "hot-key" switching between the compters, you can only switch with buttons on the device, I emailed the company making them and they said they'd be coming out with a hotkey support model soon... how soon I don't know but I'm waiting.

Well I'm using a belkin PS2 one. I've found it handy due to the built in cables and keyboard "hot-key" switching only system. This is the usb version. They do a very good selection of even more professional ones so check them out.

Thanks. Can you link me again since the link above is dead. Also, where did you get it ?

    Hey,

I had a similar problem. Only had usb kb + mouse and wanted to use on 2 computers.

I got a manual usb switch box

    which works great.

    :)

    great thanks for the link.

this looks like it has two usb and one vga input and one usb and vga output, so I assume it combines the two usb inputs into one output and that this works fine with a usb keyboard and mouse ?

thanks again. hope to pick one up in pc world today

Got a USB one of these in PC World yesterday. It even had a sound input and output on it, so I can share a set of speakers between my two machines as well.

It cost me 60 quid. Note that in PC World, the sound sharing one was right beside the non sound sharing one and they both cost the same. Only a hawk-eyed friend spotted this I would have been without this cool added feature.

Installation was plug and play, so I'm happy out.

Thanks for the info all !
