    What i want to do:

    1. Have my terrestial aerials (RTE/TV3 cable going to booster with 6 outputs

    2. Have one output from booster into back of TV. So i can get best reception. If i go thru' VCR i loose quality.

    3. Have another output from booster into back of VCR (for recording terrestial channels)

    4. Have my Digibox connected to TV by scart (again for best quality viewing)

    5. Have my Digibox connected to VCR by scart (for autoview/recording)

    6. Have DVD player connected to TV by scart

Now what i want to know is how to i connect the VCR to the TV, as ive already used up the aerial in socket with my direct line from the booster.

Also what is the aerial in socket on the digibox for and would this be useful in my setup?

Buy a TV with 3 scarts? All joking aside, I have a Beko 32" (Keep quiet, I won't have a bad word said against it!) and it has 2 scarts and also a third AV in.

That means that my Sat is on AV1, my DVD on AV2 and my Xbox (xbmc) is on AV3.

If you are not in the mood for a new TV, why not buy a scart extender, some are auto sensing, some come ith remotes to allow you to switch between the inputs. I have a manual scart extender at home and it worked fine (don't need it any more) apart from having to get up and change it myself.

Argos have a line of scart extenders.

That would work fine is there's another scart connection on the VCR since it's already connected to the digibox.. or is there an alternative routing using the scart box...

I presumed the the VCR would have a Scart in and a Scart Out. The Scart in is in use by Sky, The Scart Out could be sent to the Scart Extender along with another piece of his kit (DVD player) thus freeing up a scart in on the TV. This scart in would then be fed from the Scart Extender.

    Am I missing something?

Maybe the attched schematic will make it clearer.

ya that schematic looks like what im after alright.

all nice clean connections with scart.

but is there any advantage in using the aerial in socket on the digibox or indeed what is this for. is it just a socket to go from aerial=>digibox=>tv. if it is it just seems a long winded wway of doing it!

    It is useful for:
    1) TVs with no SCART!
    2) Feed all the TVs in the rest of the house
    3) Very rare VHS/VCR with no SCART!!!!!
    4) El Cheapo distribution system with say 5 Digiboxes feeding 20 hotel bedrooms

My TV aerial goes into Kitchen Sky Digibox --RF1--> Living room Analogue Sat RX --> VHS --> Living room Sky Digibox.

    RF one --> Main T

RF two --> Distribution Amps / splitters for Eight TV points.

All three sat receivers are ch 5, 6, 7 on all TVs VHS is 9 on all TVs

with my setup i have the following:

    The RF stuff first:
    feed from aerial into skybox
skybox to vcr and back up to attic for all other tvs in house
    vcr to tv

    Scart stuff:
    skybox to tv
    dvd to tv
vcr video sender to tv in kitchen

and throw in a surround sound setup too and this makes it a pretty scary wiring scenario behid the tv. i dread the day when i have to replace one of the boxes or the tv
