So I decided to try this for the laugh and see if it works.
    All in all it did.
Firstly I tried the gprs/3g method, which uses a app on your phone to connect. Sadly this didnt work, but I suspect it may be due to the fact that I have normal o2 wap setting rather than the o2 internet settings.
So the next option was to use the text message system.

One fault I found out. It doesn't have the Irish channels. So I tried something more equal. At this stage it was Pimp My ride on at 4:10 on MTV

So I sent the message to the number while I had my planner open and low and behold the planned recording appears.

A handy system, but I doubt I will really use it via text as its 50c per message.
Once the sky.com system is running, I may see myself using it.

I was under the thinking that the request to the box was sent via the phone, but for this I unplugged the phone. So it confirms that they send the signal via satellite and the box picks it up.

What this also brings to light to me, is the fact that sky, maybe in the future will sneekly send a signal to make the box record a major programme and this the viewer unaware may see it oneday in the planner and decide to watch it.
I know it may be very simular to the video on demand idea, but I myself have heard reports of misterious recordings appearing in peoples planners at one stage.

    What do you all think?

    Edit: w00t 11th post. :)

You have to do it via sky active to register your mobile with them.

You must have a sky.com account first. The one you used for skybybroadband will work.

Sky Active? No you don't. Go to skybymobile.com and register there.

When I tried it with a nokia 3200, it said my phone was not compatible with the service.

How does the text message method work?

Im the same. Text reply said it couldnt find my details. Maybe its the format I used in text. Tried the following, none of which worked:

    Moto+. Sky Sports 2. 15jul. 13.00.
    Moto+. 402. 15jul. 13.00.
    Moto+ 402 15jul 13.00

Wap application couldnt connect at all for me.

I tried to download the application via my N70 mobile using the link forwarded by sky, the application commences download but after a while I get the error on the phone "Installation Security Error Unable to Install" at which point the download ceases. I contacted sky and they suggested it might be down to the fact that their webserver was down, but it is now up again and I am still getting the same error. Anyone know any more?
