Replacing a car key with remote

I went into Opel today to order a new key with the remote on it. €125 bloody euro for the thing.
I had bought a key on eBay already thinking that they would reprogram the remote to open my doors but she had an attitude that just made me give up and go.

What can I do to get a key without wasting money. What happened to the days when you could get a car key cut for €10.
She started telling me that the key itself is 75 because it has a small immobiliser chip on it and the remote is an extra 50. Crazy price.

First thing to do is try another Opel dealer to try and get the remote you got on eBay reprogrammed. I'm assuming it's possible to reprogram those things.

Call Steve-Guard, they specialise in aotomotive keys and security and I find them a no nonsense outfit - they may reprogramme the one you bought.
