i am stuck in a rut at the moment.im 17 and going into l.c next this year so my objective for this summer was to save as i wont be working during the year..i have a car and a pretty hectic social life, clothes, music etc. First hump was i had to spent 3 weeks in irish college, that was fine got work off for that. Then i needed to get work off for oxegen and that was a bit of a struggle as i promised i would be available for the rest of the summer.Next i got a phone call to go back to i.c and be a cuntoir for 10 days...i was ****ting it telling my boss but managed and she didnt mind as it was a great oppurtunity, education blah blah.
I promised id be back for the rest of july and aug to work, went into a pub and also got an extra job on the side, they were delighted, needed an extra hand and i really want to be trained in the bar because im going to boston after l.c to work in a relatives bar.I had been nagging them for ages to take me on and they eventually did. Next thing half an hour ago i got a call asking did i want to go to portugal to do a music course for 10 days in the start of aug €150 everything included.I dont know what to do i want everything!!! should i quit my job altogether,im afraid to ask my boss because shes been so patient wit me and all the time off i needed,as for my new job in the pub ill be fired!!
    Any advice?

Well my outlook on this is that you should take any opportunity that arises......... but

You say that you wanted to save in order to avoid having to work next year. If you do quit your job all together you may end up having to work which may affect your LC (then again it may not.... that is for you to determine).

If you feel it may affect your LC.. then maybe it might be worth sticking around and sucking it up for the summer. The LC is pretty stressful as is... believe me your better off not having to work. Its doable... but not fun.

PS. Youll love Boston.. im currently typing this from there right now :). Its a great city.

You are only 17 and you are still full of horrormoanes and still growing.
The still growing is a chemical process that will not end until you are 21 reguardless of you being male or female.

At this stage you should be looking forward to and grasping at ever experinece that life can offer and throw at you,
the next 10 years of your life should be the most varied and intresting and
while the leaving cert is a pain in the arse it is best that you can do for you and your future and invest the year to come in your futrure.
