    Hi,

Might be buying a motorised system and was just wondering if anyone has a rough idea have much a chimney installation would cost?

Also, if anyone knows any installers in the Dublin area, I'd appreciate it.

    Cheers

I would advise against chimney mounting especially for a motorised system, use pole and stand off bracket instead

    Thanks Tony.

The only reason I was thinking about a chimney install is because my neighbour has very tall trees that are blocking everything from an easterly direction.
The chimney is the only decent vantage point unless I went for the pole option as you say but it would need to extend about 6ft above the gutter - might be a bit of an eyesore.

I've already had my Sky dish moved because of this and they're still growing!
Neighbour tells me he's getting them trimmed.

I was hoping it could be mounted on the chimney with a right angle wall bracket.

In that case i would say a lashing kit with a small pole would be the option, try and avoid drilling the chimney

Even stick two lashing kits on two brackets to be sure ...

    Cheers lads.

One last question, what type of brackets can I use with a lashing kit for a 80cm dish?
Preferable, I'd like a stand off bracket to allow the dish to move from E to W without obstruction.

    Would this combo be ok?

Go with the double kit in the first link.

THe second link is only a standoff bracket that needs to be bolted. Something I don't recommend you do on a chimney.

There is a single lashing kit (using what's known as a cradle bracket) though the double kit would be more robust and stable.
