Im in LA at moment and while I was here lastyear I ordered stuff from this website without hassle plus no sales tax. Link.I havent a clue what to buy in the digital camera end so your help would be great.

I would want one with good features, not too bulky a good battery life etc.

    Thanks.

P.s Meant to say also are the chargers dual voltage when buying cameras in the states, I bought a sony handycam lastyear and all it needed was a plug change because it was dual voltage.

What are you going to use the camera for, general shots, hoilday snaps etc or more serious work?

If it's the former then something like the Canon Powershot or Ixus range would be good. I have the Canon A610, it's a great camera, not too bulky, good image quality with lots of features & modes ranging from manual to fully automatic. It's powered by 4 AA batteries.

For more serious photography you'd probably want something like a Canon EOS350d (Digital Rebel XT in the staes) of the Nikon D70.

First question is whats your budget like ?

Yeah, we need more information before we can really help you. And I'm sure your local Best Buy or Circuit City will have equally good deals on digital point and shoot cameras, no need to worry about shipping hassles.

Yeah sorry about the information,Hmm I dont mind spending money on a good camera,I was in circuit city last night and they all seem to have nice deals but that website seemed cheaper.

As I said I got a sony handycam lastyear but found it a pain around my neck banging off chest so was on the lookout now for a nice small but good digital camera to take holiday shots but have alot of features on camera.

Well, by "a lot of features" do you want it to have things like manual settings? Or just lots of different scene modes, etc? The Canon Elph line (SD450, 550, 700, etc) is a very nice, small camera. I think the 700 has image stabilisation, which is brilliant for such a small camera. The only thing is, it doesn't have any manual settings. Lots of good scene modes, and brilliant quality pictures, and did I mention how small it is? Very impressive cameras.

Yeah the Elph (Ixus) range is pretty good, the Powershots seem to have more in the way of manual override though. Both types are compact cameras that produce decent quality images.

Have a look at http://www.steves-digicams.com & http://www.dpreview.com for some more user opinions.
