    Hello all.

I'm off to Singapore with my lady in September. We have 2 weeks. We were thinking maybe a week in the city and a week on the beach. So heres the question.

    Which beach?

Has anyone been to an area reachable from Sing that they would realy recomend.
Diving, walks, not overcrowded but still having a bit of life would all be pluses.

All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

well Sentosa, which has beaches, amonst lots of other things, is a 25 minute taxi journey from lucky plaza in the city. It has lots of beach bars and pretty girls (espiecaly sunday when the filipans take their day off) and alternatively some more secluded spots.
Better yet go to Boracay, Philippines for a week, great beach resort, and lots of fun and games that'd get you hung in Sing. If you have have a weak heart of fragile stomach stay away from Manila.

    Hi there,
We went to Singapore last April and went to Bintan island in Indonesia(just for the day)It has fabulous beaches and resorts, probably more of a chill out place. It's only a a 45 min ferry ride from Sing(you buy the indonesian visa at ferry). We had a great time there and would have loved to stay longer than a day.

Singapore is small enough that all beaches are easily reached from the city. The East Coast beach is very crowded, especially at weekends. Sentosa may be your best bet. For diving, you could go to the east coast of Malaysia. There are plenty of packages available from Singapore at very reasonable rates.

If you have 2 weeks, definitely get out of Singapore. Nice place but not really that much to do. I can't recommend the Philippines highly enough.
People are lovely, the beaches are amazing and it's not full of backpackers.

Borocay, as mentioned above, is supposed to be excellent. But I hear it's about as touristy as the Philippines gets. If you're looking for something a little quieter, consider Cebu. Beautiful island and not too many tourists. You can get ferries to some of the smaller islands from there.
