Internet problem

    Having a problem accessing the net.
    As of this morning all internet shortcuts on my desk top including ie.explorer have stopped working.
    As a result of this, and many hours today tinkering around with options and settings, the only way i can get online is to go to start, ie.explorer, which opens a file with a folder called programs, When i click on this it contains a no. of shortcuts one of them being an ie explorer icon which when clicked brings me to the ie. explorer website and then i can use the address bar to access my favoutites and surf from then on.
    Anyone know whats wrong and can help me??

    just copy and paste the working shortcut back onto the desktop

    if any of your programs e.g. internet explorer, get moved from where they are located for any reason then your shortcuts will not work for them as the "pathway" will have changed, it is a simple process to make new ones, by right clicking on the program and chosing send to -desktop, any further probs please post with your o.s. details (e.g. windows xp, 98 2ooo) youll get more help:D
