I have a tv wich only has a universal type remote. all it can do is channel up and down and turn the volume up and down. what i need to do is to tune in the tv. the buttons on the front of it seem of no use for this. so what i am looking for is some free sw, windows or linux, that can use a usb ir transmitter to controll…

anyone know of such sw?
also will the usb ir transceiver be able to do this. ie is there any issues with frequency and what not.
