I'm inclined to agree with you and have had a small bet on SS. I had a nice bet on Peeress to be place at just greater than 7/4 earlier, that's a huge price for a horse of her quality. I usually make a point of ignoring 3 year olds against older horses at this stage of the season so have discounted Nannina.

    So I'm hoping for 1st - Soviet Song, 2nd - Peeress.

Missed the race as well but had Peeress as part of a double, nearly dropped when i saw a 50/1 winner instead

won it fair and square. nannina took it up briefly inside furlong but winner won by length at end. soviet could never get to leaders.

A very slow pace ending with a sprint finish. Quite a slow final time. Winner was going away at end though, looked quite a smart filly. Looking at the RP's review of her penultimate race (5th @ 150/1) - raved about her.

Easily said now, having backed Soviet Song meself, but her Ascot win was a desperately poor group 2, and she doesnt look the same horse that she was last year. Would have picked these up from the 2 pole, even from the back of a slow pace, had she been at her best.
