Yes, an MP3 player bought over there will work fine over here. There's little or no difference in the software and little or no difference in the chargers apart from the plug itself. I don't see what the big attraction is of buying over there as opposed to over here, though. You don't really save THAT much on the price...

I would assume it would work fine, you will just have to get an Irish cable to plug it into the power adaptor to the wall socket.

I did. I got a zen sleek in circuit city NY for 200 dollars (160euro) when it was 289 over here.

That said it had just been reduced at the time.

Warning about Firmware, with iRiver the firmware in America and Europe is different, I saw my friends iRiver H340 here and wanted to buy it cheaper when I was in New York, brought it home and found out that I couldnt get the Browser function or Video playback on the Amerir=can version like you could on the Uuropean version.

The warranty might not cover you in another country. Check that it has a worldwide warranty.

My iRiver broke and the Warranty covered it but I had to pay shipping back to America, broke again 3 weeks later emailed them and havent heard back two months later. The American Warrantees are much shorter.

If u buy your mp3 online ie. give irish billing address and american shipping address and have someone collect your ipod r whatever when they are heading over does that work

The Korean firmware is the one that should be used with the H3XX series. Firmware is easily flashed so it's a bit of a non issue.

If your warantee means anything though you cant flash it because it voids the waantee and with the reliabilty issues of the iRiver products, everyone I know that has ever owned one has had to get them replaced at least once, the warantee is very important to me.

Many electrical shops in the US, especially those that have a lot of international customers will have the UK/Irish style charger.

Reflash it before returning it? Are you sure a firmware flash will void the warranty?

Yes but the problem is that the reason for returning it is if it breaks, 9 times out of 10 at this stage it will be impossible to reflash it due to the damage to the product. Not 100% sure, there is no clear guidlelines set out by the company on this but when looking at mistic river while researching it I saw that people are pretty sure it does.

Plus, when you flash it to Korean you loose the clock function and it doesnt come back when you reflash it that doesnt come back so you can easily see that it has been flashed.
