    Hi

Was out looking at a 99 vauxhall astra last night, really thinking of buying it. Just wondering is there any pitfalls or cons i should be aware of. Will a main opel dealer service it? Are parts the same? Resale Value? etc.

    Thanks a mil

AFAIK Opels and Vauxhalls were identical cars by that stage. Wouldn't keep your hopes up with the resale value though.

Vauxhalls tend to have a higher spec then equiv Irish Opel so if the price is right and you are'nt banking on a quick resale then any difference in value is proberly irrelevant.

Vauxhall & Opel are identical. Spec on the vauxhall will be better. Parts are the same. Resale might be a little less than its Opel equivalent.
I bought a 91 Vauxhall Cavalier 12yrs ago and had no problems getting it serviced here. The odd time when I went to a dealer to get a part and told them it was a Vauxhall Cavalier, they used to groan a bit, but after a while I used to just say it was a Vectra.
