Buying a rare TV series...

    Hey all,

This doesn't really count as a film but more as a DVD collection, so wasn't sure where to place this.

I'm looking for the original X-Men cartoon series (aired in the '90s) and I found two sites, Mediaenterprises.tv and neodvd.com.

They seem and look reputable but they both mentioned that the sets are in DVD-R format, which doesn't sound exactly official.
Has anyone ever bought anything off these sites and if so, how have you found them?

Thanks, bit wary of sites like that but if they have what i want, fair enough.

Counts as a Television question so I'm moving it to the Prime Time Cartoons forum, they'd be more likely to know. I hope.

And no, a DVD-R copy sounds dodgy and quite possibly of low quality, given it could easily be sourced off a poor TV rip.

@MoonHawk: As far as i know the series in its entirety hasn't been released on official dvd, and there doesn't appear to be plans to do it either.

There have been selected 3/4 parter epsiodes released though (like The Phoenix Saga) but not really worth the cash imo.

Yeah, I saw those available alright, hopefully the company will bring the seasons to DVD, wouldn't like to spend good money on episodes copied straight from the tv / vhs tape onto dvd-r.

    Thanks for the help
