    hi people
i've just started a new system and the results to date have been quite good so thought i'd start sharing them with you people.
my results so far have been
    11/07/06 south 15:30 BAYTOWN PAIKEA 4.8 6th
    10/07/06 Muss 15:30 ALAMBIC 2.6 1st
    09/07/06 Brig 14:30 LAW OF THE LAND 3.2 5th
    08/07/06 Sand 16:50 ANS BACH 6.0 2nd
    07/07/06 Warw 16:40 LUCAYOS 3.9 6th
    06/07/06 Perth 15:40 GONE TO FAR 5.7 2nd
    05/07/06 Catt 16:00 SHARP HAT 5.0 4th
    04/07/06 Ham 15:15 SHY GLANCE 5.3 4th

the prices are what i took on betfair and i'm sure one of the good chaps on here can verify them from my website.
they are system lays so as with all system lays they sometimes go wrong i.e. alambic hacked up by about 12 lengths
hopefully i can help some of you make a little cash but i would advise just minimun stakes with them for a good while in case they go tits up.

I can confirm that that silax posted these on his site, and is not aftertiming.

Nice to see that you are sticking them up here silax. Interesting to see a good few short priced lays in there. Good luck.

price is a bit high for this one but nothing i can do about that i'm afraid

Im not going to say Im an expert at laying off horses, although I have backed a few losers in my time ;) BUT.....Newmarket today seems to be offering up some major opportunities to lay off Favs. I reckon theres a few quid to be made there today.....

From what I can see Favs have a pretty shoite record there...maybe someone might correct me on that?!

(Watch out now for all the favs winning this afternoon ha!)

i have a suggestion about laying. For eg. with this horse. You think its not going to win and you probably think that it will drift in the market. My suggestion is that if you were to lay it at 7.8 and then back it when it drifts are you not guaranteeed to win. It sounds so easy.

does anyone see how this couldnt work.

    hi people
the price was high for me on these but it got beat albeit 2nd believe me there was no one more worried then me putting this one up at the price but thats what the system dictated so i had no choice hopefully in the future the prices will come more in line with what i've already posted/
good luck keep the stakes small

well brave when i lay a horse its a lay unless the price doubles then i'll back half back to give me a free lay otherwise its full on lay basically i don't think the fooker will win unless the odds dictate its lay lay lay

This is certainly an opiton brave inca, and anyone who can read and predict market movements can make a small amount of cash from it. It can be done the other way too. (Back high, lay low) It is hard work though. The first thing to consider is that you will only be making very small amounts of cash IF the horse goes on to win. (unless you use a bot, which allows you to 'green up' and spread the difference - see the betfair sticky)

Will you be kicking yourself that you did not leave the lay alone if it goes on to lose?
Also, what if, as often happens, you read the market wrong and the price comes in instead of going out?
If you want to get serious about this, the best price movements are to be found in the ten minutes before the off, and there is some good oppertunities to trade. (only do this on the bigger UK meetings, there is not enough liquidity in some of the Irish, and the US racing is a minefield.) To do this properly and quickly, you will need a bot.

Have a read of the betfair explained sticky (check the index in post No. 1 for the TRADING and BOT sections) If you have any questions, stick them up, and I'll try to answer them as best I can.

The above link is to one of my posts in a thread about another forum user conducting the same strategy (except backing and then laying off). Up to you what you make of it.

Just a suggestion, maybe it would be worth putting a daily summary of your total profit/loss so far, would make it easier for people to follow as the thread grows, good luck with it:)

Well done silax. Is this the new system you were working on for a while that you were telling me about?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 48 silax

no its not basically because of the losses incurred on the system i post there last month i introduced my max lay of the day to help people who were following them recover there losses quicker.
with the main system pretty much back to normal and making a profit this month the lay of the day is a big bonus for everybody.
the new system is still on trial and its maybe too early to introuce and while the one i post continues to perform i'll proberbly keep it to myself.

You must have been rubbing your hands together with excitement after seeing the racing post forecast price on Bobbish, I was, only to log onto Betfair and see it was ever so slightly bigger.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 48 silax

hey master this is silax you're talking too ;) i rarely look at the racing post if just to see what meetings are on atr.
they are all system picks using software looking at betfair i took a crap price on it as well

It was forecast in RP as a 7/4 shot. I thought it was a ridiculous price and was rushing in to lay it only to see it was around 9/2 on Betfair.
