Are you certain that it works with NTL? I remember a discussion where it was possibly concluded that the encryption used by NTL wasn't supported by this device,

    I hope im wrong.......

Yeah there was a thread a while back about this in short no one is sure, it is possible to do what you want but with Sky as the encryption used is supported by certain CAM's but whether the encryption used by NTL is supported is another matter.

MCE doesn't support DVB-S (satellite) or DVB-C (cable) but these Technotrend cards trick MCE into thinking it is a DVB-T card which it does support and they worm out the Sky channels through that.

But I'm afraid that's all I know on the subject I did some Google searches on CAM's, MCE & NTL but nothing came back saying it would work.

A thread here says it is possible Media Portal will work.

Update; after rooting around a bit more it may be you can get NTL to work although I'm still not 100% sure on the exactly but it involves getting one of those TechnoTrend cards anyway.

Possible acknowledgement your CAM of choice works with NTL smart cards see this post edit: no he mentions a DVB-S but the original poster mentions NTL.

This is the other part, a program called My Theatre is basically a media player for DVB cards and someone has written a plug-in that allows you to stream the channels viewed in My Theatre to MCE, you even get the EPG for the channels as well (TT cards are in the list of supported hardware).
    Info here & here.

If you were able to view the NTL channels in My Theatre with the TechnoTrend card then I believe you would be able to use them within MCE.

The TechnoTrend cards have an optional card reader which you'll need to plug the CAM into but it might be you only get the channels which are not encrypted in a worst case scenario.

The hardware isn't all that expensive so it might be worth risking it.

[TechnoTrend have their own software that plugs into MCE as well see TT MCE Tools it also lists their DVB-C card as compatible so their own plug-in for MCE "may work" negating the need for My Theatre and the other plug-in.]
