Folks, I have begun an application for the Musgrave's Graduate Programme. Have every thing else write up but I'm stuck on two questions and I’m not sure what I should put in them. Ok its not rocket science, but I never know what is acceptable to put in. Anyhow here are the questions -

"Please write a short paragraph on your career aspirations together with your strengths and development needs in relation to these aspirations."

"Please state why the career choice you have selected is appropriate for you and why you have selected Musgrave."

And this one is.... well you could put any thing for this

"What is it, we at Musgrave will like about you?"

Any tips / advice would be greatly appreciated

    Stephen

Have you thought of going to a career coach. I went to one against my wishes really and it was a fab experience. I have to say the job I wanted was not really what I wanted and now I'm heading in a totally different direction and I'm so happy. Accelerating Performance went through my strengths using a tool they have. Try it.

Roughly translates as "So where do you want to be, what do you think are your strenghts and what do you think you need to work on to get you where you want to be?".
"Please state why the career choice you have selected is appropriate for you and why you have selected Musgrave."

First part is fairly obvious, I'd imagine (if you chose it, you would surely be able to say why - and I'd hope it would be retail related). The second part should be you tying in why and how you feel Musgraves and the experience you will gain there is relevant.
And this one is.... well you could put any thing for this

They are giving you a chance to list what you think are your good qualities. Go for it, but don't go overboard.

Maybe people might have thoughts on another one of the questions:

"Please outline your non-academic achievements, giving an indication of your level of involvement, including any positions of responsibility. For example: hobbies, interests, sports, clubs etc."

I'm not sure what to put here, most of my achievements would be academic! Basically I finished Uni last year, I haven't been involved in ANY clubs or societies etc since before uni. I was quite active before that, but, I don't really feel under16 medals in hurling etc are really what they are looking for! My college years were basically a lot of part-time work, study, drinking and eating.

Its not like I don't have interests eg. cooking, travelling, films, music - its that they don't entail achievements!

    so any ideas?

I think my achievements are being financially independent through college, buying an apartment and snaring a beautiful woman! I think this might be a bit cheeky for this question!

(stepbar, hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, maybe this will be helpful to you also)
