Saturday 15th July – Just Another Saturday Night??

So here it is: Saturday night.
The night you’ve been waiting for the past 6 days.
The night which has the potential to keep you sailing like a little row-boat through the next 6.
The night upon which that stock market of social status may rise or fall.
And the one night of the week 78% of Irish people shower.

And you’re gonna disrespect those precious after-hours going to the same pub with the same people?
    For shame.

Just Dance Promotions has something else in mind for you.

Slattery’s on Capel Street this Saturday 15th July will house a night of minimal, bouncy-ass techno to get your mind in a place your feet can follow.

Featuring the tasty talents of Niall Power (Electric Circus), Travis Bickle (MusikLab) and D.O.S (Ten), Just Dance Promotions, in association with Big Brother records, will deliver what you want from a Saturday night: high energy, hearty music and happy people. You want more? Oh alright then, it won’t break the bank either.

Niall Power is the man behind Electric Circus in Waterford, has been Dj-ing for nearly a decade in that city and around the country, and has held a residences with the underground Techno club night’s Subversive, Resistance and Electric Circus, which he has organised and promoted @ Preachers, SOUTH Tramore, Axis Mundi (the bowery) TEN venue and 19 Bar in Waterford. Niall has, over the last number of years, become an important part of the Irish club scene; gaining a formidable reputation for his skills as a techno DJ. He’s performed at Dublin's D.E.A.F Festival’s on numerous occasions since it’s arrival in 2002, Waterford's Spraoi street festival, Creation Parties & Dublin's Power FM and 2 FM.
Out of Ireland Niall has played at clubs in Barcelona and in Amsterdam. Niall is also resident at the infamous club night Resistance, has played support sets to Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, Mr C, Dave Clarke, Felix da House Cat, Rolando (UR), Carl Craig, Christian Smith and Mauro Picotto.

When Djing, expect Niall's own pulsating rhythm of building, hard-edged techno, funky Detroit, electro or minimal techno all pieced together on 3 decks. Recently Niall has started work on production of his own material and hopes to release tracks in the future on his own label.

If you’re looking for a dj who’s gonna work the crowd like putty, then look no further than Travis Bickle. A resident of Waterford club institution Musiklab, has been djing electronic music since the mid 1990’s. He plays a range of techno from minimal to hard depending on occasion and atmosphere and is currently working on material for his new godsadog label.

A member of techno duo Necksnapper, who featured on the bill of last year’s Global Gathering Festival, Travis has played with many renowed dj acts around the Ireland including: Adam Beyer, Marco Corola, Vitalic, Space dj’s, Umek and Billy Nasty.

Travis is a guy you can always count on to deliver a thoughtful hard-hitting perfomance, aswell as having one of the most down-to-earth attitudes in Irish techno. Nice.

D.O.S decided to put the music floating around his head to good use seven years ago. Since then he has been dj-ing his way around Waterford and Dublin Clubs including SOUTH Tramore, TEN venue and Temple Bar Music Centre. During this time he got to kick it with Eric Rug and Soft Cell’s Marc Almond.

Some of his influences include DJ Shadow, Derrick Carter and Laurent Garnier. When you’re dancing to D.O.S on the decks, you’ll be dancing to his style which mixes deep emotional music to up-beat hard-hitting tracks.

Currently studying music production in college, D.O.S. set up Just Dance Promotions to spread the word that no-nonsense-free-wheeling-funky-fun techno does exist. Peace be with him.
