it is quite likely you are behind here. to me it looks like a set on the flop has now seen 2 flush draws and made it way to expensive to play, even KK or AA iv seen make this move post flop. id fold.

Yip agree with goodluck2me, he could be a crazy of course - but you have not that kind of info - your hand which looked good on the flop is being told it's not good enough - clear fold for you.

btw a little tip for your future notation.
People typically type the type of card first and then the suit, you're hq, ha threw me for a moment ;)

whatya end up doing anyway, call or fold?

Generally will players on sb with small pairs try and steal blinds?, and if they get callers hope for a set for good value?

When he did hit the all in button i immediately typed kk?? to him while deciding to call or not, but got no reply :)

Quite a tricky one actually, the pot is about $175, if I'm reading it right it's $85 to call, you have TPTK and the Nut Flush Draw, so you're being offered 2:1 on your money.

It's about 4:1 you hit the Nuts guaranteeing you the money, then you need to look at what possible hands the Villain could possibly have, it's hard to read the OP, but it looks like he could have 77, likely, but I think there's enough times the Villain will have some kind of diamond draw (probably nut, maybe even AJd now)/ straight draw / pair + draw to make this a Very close call.

Although I'd say from the fact that you have posted this hand he had 77 or 33 and you felt terrible after turning $30 into $160 but hey UL.

    EDIT:

This post probably just added to the confusion, from my reading the Villain limped then called a raise Pre-Flop and called the bet on the Flop then Check raised Turn..

Why did you bet double the pot on the flop?

During this game had just finished reading Gholimoli recent post on pot odds and with my possible draws was finding this hard to put down.

    Diamond draw

    Something like:

    Villain $130
    Hero covers

Hero is dealt AhQh on the BB
Folded to villain who calls. Hero raises to 4 and villain calls.

    Flop (8.50)

    3h Qd 7d

    Hero bet 16
    Villain called

    Why bet so much?
Bet 4-8 here. 16 is twice the pot and is an overbet.

    Turn (40.50)

    Jh

    Villain checks
    Hero bets 25
Villain pushes for 90 more. Action?

So anyhoo the pot is now 165 and we've to pay 90. If we count the As and Qs as outs, then we have 14 outs, somehwere around a 4-1 shot (this is assuming we're behind). We're getting 1.8-1 so it's a pretty standard fold.

Worst case scenario the villain has a set meaning we have 7 outs which is about 6-1 so it's an even easier fold.

Unless this guy is a bluff monkey, we should lay this down.

    Thank you ian,

Would any heart not give me an out so 9 outs + 2 q's, so 11outs?

Ok let's say he has an overpair.

    KK - 9hearts + 2queens + 3Aces = 14outs
    AA - 9 hearts +2queens = 11outs
Set - 7 hearts (as if either diamond on the board pairs he'll have a house)
2 Pair - Depends on what 2 pair he has. Realistically he'll probably only call a raise with QJ but i've put in Q7 and J7 just in case.

    The stats look like:

    Board: Jh Qd 3h 7d
    Dead:

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 71.9318 % 71.93% 00.00% { JJ+, 77, 33, QJs, Q7s, J7s, QJo, Q7o, J7o }
    Hand 2: 28.0682 % 28.07% 00.00% { AhQh }

So we're not getting the correct odds to call unless we think he may have a bag of hot air here.

In the end called feeling a little sick and he had 7 7 giving him a set.

River threw over a K hearts and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy :)

On a side note , was there any boards members playing at the NLH 50 table in the Fitz on friday?
I played at the start and left quite promptly after playing two hands in 25 min and leaving with 150+ plus profit after bringing 50 to table. Was happy with my first ever casino live game.

You should check this turn, your hand is good but not great but has a draw to the nuts so you really want to see the river.
