Some of them aren't too bad. Especially for a few on a Saturday afternoon.

Not the best town for pubs. Not at all.

It is a matter of preference though, theres nothing brilliant in the place.

    LOL

Opinion changed, it really is awful. I've since learned.

Indigo - nice place but is run by a brain dead moron, has loud noisy bands in a small pub cant have a chat or craic with anyone

Castle - run down kip full of kids, dont go to the toilets in the place! in fact just dont go near the place

Muldoons - decent enough pub for a drink and a chat/craic

Lynches - a decent pub with a bit of a mixture of crowds at a time can get a bit rowdy i've heard but i've never seen it like that.

I wouldnt have spent enough time in the other pubs to comment on them but as another poster has mentioned on a sat night most people go to a neighbouring town (Drogheda, Dundalk, Carrick) for a night out and this would be the best option

    Brian Muldoon's
Nice pub. Probably the best pub in Ardee, in which to attempt to have a conversation. A proper pub.

    Indigo
Cool kind of a place, but absolutely unbearable for anyone who likes to have the craic, chat to other people, etc. It's impossible with the loud bands.

    The Fair Green Bar
Recently refurbished. I was only ever in it once. Lovely old bar-man. Lacks warmth.

Landy's Irish Harp and Mickey McCreanor's
I was never in either of these places.

    The Nest
    Pointless.

    McKenna's (out the back)
    Never in it.

    Tenanty's
    Not really a Boards.ie user's scene, I wouldn't think.

    The Auberge
Rude staff. Little choice when it comes to drinks.

    The Railway Bar
Not a fan myself. Some swear by it, but, again, it's an older person's place.

    Lynch's AKA The Ferdia Arms
Good place for a chat, nice and quiet. Tends to attract the wrong crowd at times though.

The Castle Inn AKA The Kindergarten
Filled with under-age drinkers. Seriously, if you're into socialising with first, second and third years, this is really the place to be. It's a sickening place. Words can't begin to describe how much I hate it. Seconded about the toilets, by the way.

    Enda Muldoon's
Everyone has to visit this place at least once in their life. Think Tenanty's with craic.

Have I left anywhere out? I know Liscoe's opens one day a year to keep its licence up to date, but I've never been so privileged.

The Fairgreen is a nice spot. The Auberge is closed but when it was open it was where I would head to. Enda Muldoons for a great pint of Guinness. Don't even know where The Nest is. I would go into Lynchs for something to eat an odd time.

Ardee's one of the best small regional towns in Leinster, methinks.

The Castle really is a strange little pub. Friend of mine was playing there with his band bout a year ago so Pighead and a few buddies went along to see them.

Arrived into the bar and it was like stepping into 1992. Loads of young kids off their faces on pills wearing Guns'N Roses T-Shirts. By the looks of things Pills had just recently made their debut in Ardee, because everyone was on them.

Anyway the lights went out at one stage and next thing all we heard was banging and jumping. Hadn't a clue what the fcuk was going on. The lights go back on and the whole place are standing on tables and on the bar stamping their feet in some kind of mad Mid Louth Ritual.

Scary night alright. Pighead kinda enjoyed it though.

I meant of Ardee's size. I'm not trying to compare it with larger regional towns.

    Pubs in Ardee:-
Endas - Best Pint in Ardee, without a doubt.

Brian Muldoons - Most boring place for a social gathering. Unless you're over 65. Do not venture near here if you':) re looking for a bit of craic. Only if you have trouble sleeping.

Lynch's. - Good for grub. Thats where it ends. Although the breakfast price is ridiculous now.

The Castle - You'll meet your kids there!!

The Railway Bar - for the over 35's. Dead, dull and dead!!!

Tenantys - Admittedly has a good pint of guinness but only if you can put up with the rude barstaff.

The Nest/Mckennas - Good jukebox, Drinks not great but atmosphere can be good.

Mickey McCreanors - Good for traditional music. Bring your own drink. (And food for that matter).

Bennys - Definitely have to visit this establishment at least once in your lifetime. Think Craggy Island 100 years ago.

Landy's - Tick Tock, Definitely the pub that time forgot. Not in its scenery but in it's vibrance.

The Fairgreen - Recently done up. Good for a chat, but if you want to get away from the Late Late Show on a Friday nite, it's not the place to go!!
