    hi folks

a friend of mine is over here for a 3 month stint, she is trying to get a job here and is unsure of where to get a pps number? she is well qualified, degree or more and has 10years or more experience, she has kids and wants a relatively high paid job such as hr or something, as she sold her house state side.

any ideas on where to begin? she told me employers want a pps number before they do anything.....

Tell her to call in to her nearest Social Welfare Office and apply for one there. Proof of identity and proof of address will be required, (long version of Birth Cert and passport is the usual requirement for proof of ID). PPS number will be posted to the given address within 2 or 3 days of application.

She needs a work visa before she'll get one, if she has no visa, then she may forget about working legally.
