Is there anyone here that goes to the (I think Judo) club in Ballybrit. I would just like to know about starting out. If there is anyone else here in a Galway city that would recommend a club in Galway, all and any advice is welcomed.

I am uninformed about Judo schools in Galway, but if you are not sure of the MA you want and are shopping, two Taekwondo schools in or near City Galway with grand reputations are listed below:

    Mark O'Donnell, Galway School of TKD (087) 7970 646
    http://homepage.eircom.net/~galwaytkd/pages/join.html

    Mark Leonard, NUI-Galway Taekwondo
    http://www.nuigalwaytkd.com

Both these schools take beginners, as well as more advanced transfers.

If your heart is set on Judo, maybe either Mark Leonard or Mark O'Donnell can recommend one near where you live?

I would actually prefer Taekwondo. I did it a good few years back with Mark O'Donnell and I was just wondering where he was gone. Thanks for the help!

Mark has relocated, due to his old hall burning down, in the BUshy Park School. Its the opposite side of the town to Ballybrit, let me know if you need directions.
Point Blanks is re-locating to the Parkmore estate in Ballybrit in September and will offer pure Jiu Jitsu classes as well as MMA, if you are still looking for a club then give me a shout.

So he's not in Renmore anymore? That would have been handy as well. So Point blanks is re locating, might give them a shout. See i've no transport and Bushy park is bit of a trek!

Best of Luck with that, I'm sure it will be a huge success.
