Therapist in Cork, Help Needed

I am in need of a cognitive therapist, or a really good psychotherapist, in Cork, but I don't know how to go about finding one and finding a good one at that. I have looked in the phonebook for therapist, but I don't think that is the best method. Preferably I would like a young therpist - I have not had great results in the past with older, more religious-conscious family therapists who I don't feel can help me with teenage problems, a strange as that sounds. I am haviong trouble with relationships and self destructive stuff that I urgently need to sort out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A GP in Cork might be able to give you some names and numbers. Failing that, if you have a psychiatrist they will definitely be able to help you.

you said you are in your teens (and so I'd guess you don't have loads of money), well remember a visit to a GP in Cork could cost you about EUR 45

Also if you are a student in college there should be a councilling service that you can avail of.

    Hi there,

The Irish council for psychotherapy website has a list of practitioners in the Cork region - It's coded as well so that you can search for a CBT or other type of therapist depending on what most appeals.
