Ok two things I'd like to know if any readers here have experience with.

1: 2N or simalar GSM gateway working with a VOIP system, has anyone installed one or used one.

2: Nokia E Series handsets, has anyone used the SIP application with VOIP Ireland or Blueface or any Irish VOIP provider?

    Cheers

I've installed a 4-SIM one of these for a customer and it's working great. O2, Vodafone SIM's and all sorts of options in Asterisk for outbound routing. It's worked much better than the normal analogue -> GSM devices.

haven't used the e61 myself, but a company I work for has been playing around with them. The basic problem we found though, is that it isn't very good at going through a firewall to connect to a sip server on the Internet. It works with some sip servers (for example Free in France) but most of them, it doesn't work.

Thats due to the phone not supporting NAT antoinolachtnai, it will be supported in future firmware releases though, some SIP servers support reverse NAT which gets around this issue.

Ah yes, future firmware releases ...! do any of the irish providers offer the reverse nat support?
