I was expecting the HD in my player to die ages ago (The one time i dropped it it breaks offcourse). Working a bit this summer so i have some money and i might get a new drive and possibly a battery.
Where you i go for both? And how hard would it be to replace them both?

Dunno about the H140 but a 1st gen ipod battery will fit with a bit of a squeeze (possibly after removing some padding in the player) and can be got for about twnety bills on ebay. Toshiba would be the guys to look up about the HDD, (the 40 or 60gb 1.8" drives are the same thickness and both will fit). There's a boat load of stuff about this on misticriver.net so have a look there.
