Choppers - Piloting and gunning

Seen a clip on a different forum of a guy who was piloting an attack chopper, switching to the gunner seat, firing tv missiles and then switching back.
Needless to say he was owning left right and centre.

My question is how is this possible.
I tried doing it and the second I move to the gunner seat the helicopter spins out of control...

Ive seen a lot of Pilots do this recenly, mostly on Sharqi. I "think" its something to do with spinning the chopper to the side or something.

Their was a thread here about 2 months ago, all about Chopper tactics and such, a couple of the guys said they figured out how to do it. Might be worth looking up.

fair play to them if they can do it, altough not very nice for team work, whats embarrasing is when you and a gunner go up against one of them and die :(

But ive come to terms with the fact Im crap in helis - still fly em though :D

Its easy i can take down other choppers with a tv on my own better than with most gunners, cause most gunners cant fire a tv properly

i use the keyboard as well, just press f2 and right click with your mouse quickly then fire and take them down, then switch back with f1 after its not hard i can take down heli's and tanks etc troops are hard though if you use the machine gun as it spins fast

u dont need to be a good pilot cause im not that good piloting but the tving is easy

taking down planes though, thats class!

if i keybinded it too my mouse it would be even easier but i couldnt be arsed

Only doo it if no-one else is around, or if the gunners cant shoot to save their lives

You need to group up with one or two other Anti Tank to effectively destroy a tank quickly cos If he gets a read on where you are hiding your 99% toast unless you have a miraculous escape plan....

    I'll be on again tonight....

I think this is the guy your talking about, its a movie he made with footage from clan matches and shows what he can do with a solo chopper. I would doubt theres many who could perfect this skill and somehow i dont think it affects his teamwork as his clan are current world champions of bf2.

you tilt the chopper to the side and spin the rotor in the direction of the tilt before switching to gunner mode, do what you have to do quickly, then switch back to pilot before the chopper goes out of control... don't go too close to the ground though :D

Aha, so the chopper takes a few seconds to level itself out before it starts spinning like crazy... That makes sense...

yeah i learned how it works by constantly pressing Control (too look around) in the chopper, you loose control doing that, but you learn how to "influence" the choppers movements when you take direct control away from yourself...

it wont spin out of control you can let it spin, just fire striaght away and when u hit or miss just press f1 and level it out again

none of this would be as important if there were people out there who could actually gun and if they could team up with people who could actually fly
The number of times Im in a chopper only to have some.....thing just using the gun against everything...
    ARGH!

I know, but to keep the chopper steady for a couple more seconds to line up a shot is vital. I'll try this out tonight and report my findings...

if you find your not quick enough then tilt the chopper to the left and when you spin if you fire quickly then you should be dead on with your target

I'm gonna give this a go when I get home :D

ive switched between gunner and pilot a few times, its only really possible when the target isnt that far away, it just gets really unnerving cuz your expecting the choppe to crash ,:) fun though

I decided I wanted a go of being gunner the other night, and our chopper pilot guy said he'd train me in.

Unfortunately there was a guy doing this on Dragon Valley, and taking us out continuously. He was taking the chopper up pretty high, switching, firing and we'd be hit just as his chopper started to spin.

    Me: :(

And I'm not joking, that was my actual expression.

    I have to agree ^^
The biggest problem used to be plane whores but now there are as many chopper whores who will make a squad and lock it..get the chopper and away they go.
Dragon Valley is a git for a tv gunner coz of the fog/cloud!
